Charlie B. Powell was born on November 16, 1920, in the small town of Miller, Georgia. After parachuting into Overasselt with G Company, 504th Parachute Infantry Regiment, 82nd Airborne Division, he made his way toward Groesbeek. On September 26, 1944, he was killed in action at the age of 23.
