Einar Flack werd geboren op 3 januari 1922 in Noorwegen. Na het emigreren naar de Verenigde Staten was hij een machinist bij de Ford Instrument Company in Long Island City. Na zijn sprong met G Company, 504th Parachute Infantry Regiment als medic nam hij deel bij verschillende hevige gevechten. Op 26 september 1944 kwam Einar om het leven. Postuum heeft hij de Silver Star Medal gekregen voor zijn acties op 26 september. “The President of the United States of America, authorized by Act of Congress July 9, 1918, takes pride in presenting the Silver Star (Posthumously) to Private Einar Flack (ASN: 12157220), United States Army, for gallantry in action while serving with the Medical Detachment, 504th Parachute Infantry Regiment, 82d Airborne Division, in action against the enemy in Holland, on 26 September 1944.The bravery and self-sacrifice displayed by Private Flack’s extraordinary heroism and devotion to duty were in keeping with the highest traditions of the military service and reflect great credit upon himself, his unit and the United States Army. Einar is 22 jaar geworden.
